Description

The three-day First Aid at Work (FAW) is the highest first aid qualification.

It is suitable for workplaces where your first aid risk assessments identify the need for highly trained first aiders due to the size of the workplace, the type of work undertaken or the individuals who work there.

Covering the responsibilities of employers and the first aider in the workplace this in-depth course is delivered in a relaxed and friendly way and enables learners to respond to an extensive range of first aid incidents and emergencies.

Qualification details

The First Aid at Work qualification is valid for three years from the date of successful completion and meets the criteria in England, Wales, Northern Ireland of a RQF level 3 qualification and in Scotland of SCQG level 6.
The course consists of a minimum of 18 contact hours and includes both practical and theoretical activities.

To keep up to date and to continue as a first aider in the workplace the qualification must be renewed after three years via completion of a two-day First Aid at Work Renewal course. (Put in a link to that page)

Practical exercises also form part of the assessment process and candidates will be expected to demonstrate competency in the techniques taught.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate on other candidates in a range of positions including standing, sitting and on the floor at ground level!
